Bodywork with Trigger Point Therapy

Body Work is a healthy way for anyone to help move the junk out of the body. Deep tissue treatment is therapy in itself, and people who are in pain, or not, feel a tremendous benefit from receiving deep tissue work. Remember, the tissues are very sensitive and responsive, and with a deep tissue treatment it is best to be honest and clear with your therapist though communicating when it is too much. If you have a high pain tolerance please note that suffering is a choice and will not serve you.

Coral-Lei encourages breath work throughout the treatment to open the body-mind to connect to your truth and know what is really going on. This becomes a dual effort, and requires a peaceful mind to go deeper (not more pressure per say, just a more mindful, connected awareness that opens the body and mind, perhaps together, through breath).

Working the fascia through “Ironing” the muscles is another way to feel what is going on from the inside-out. Listen to your body talk, as I do with you. If the depth of your breath doesn't alarm the therapist to soften my pressure, help feel what the tissue is doing and even ask for less pressure. Communication to the therapist is imperative and helps build a rapport.

Therapeutic Body Work Therapy

• Deep Tissue is about relieving the stress on the tissue with a trigger point (TrP) release. This will relax the muscles via the nervous system (point holding) followed by a pulsing action;
• TrPs are muscles caught in contraction;
• Fascial release and muscle "ironing" will stimulate the tissues;
• Experience the opiate release from the brain! This is why people feels so great following a treatment. The muscle sends out information to the brain via the nervous system to help the tissue calm down. It does this through releasing endorphins to counter the effects of pain, as well as feedback to the muscle itself to let go. The body is very efficient, and likes to choose the easiest path of resistance. Training it any other way can be detrimental to the health of the tissue.

Rarely is there any bruising, and if and when there is, it is a sign of toxic release. A lot of eager clients want more, usually the ones that like it deeper, and want me to hold it too long. This is why it is very important to ensure to be mindful of activity following a treatment, and to drink a lot of water after. Doing your homework that I give you will encourage the tissue to release in a more pleasant way. I call it Love.

Emotions during your treatment or during yin yoga

• Emotions can create pain and blockages in the tissues, which may cause more pain and damage. Releasing old, as well as new emotions will and can provide instant healing. Most times you are unaware of what causes your pain, so when the communication is open and you feel safe to share the strangeness that goes on inside during your massage, often there is a aha moment;
• The body talks through our tissues, and when this goes unrecognized there is pain as a result.
• Integrating your energy or your emotions brings a balance back to the body.
